What is Hydrolyzed Sponge Bio-Microneedling
With conventional skin care methods, the active ingredients can only penetrate into the barrier layer of the epidermis (i.e. the stratum corneum), which is not very effective (only about 0.3% effectiveness), hence the popularity of metal microneedling for skin treatment and care in Europe and America. Traditional microneedling therapy, typically using roller microneedles or microneedle pen. The metal needles are inserted under the skin with an external force, artificially creating thousands of miniature wounds in the epidermis, stimulating the skin to heal itself and inducing the skin to produce more collagen. After the microneedling treatment, the skin's stratum corneum cells will have fallen off and the skin texture will improve relatively. After several treatments, most of the problems in the epidermal layer of the skin can be solved and improved. Therefore, metal microneedling is widely used in dermatology to treat various skin problems, especially acne, enlarged pores, scars.
Spongilla Spicules Vs Metal Microneedles
Compared to traditional metal needles, spongilla spicules are smaller and finer (1g of 99% spongilla spicules contains about 5-6 million needles), the stinging sensation is lighter than metal needles, no epidermal anaesthetic is needed, and because the spicules are extremely fine, the introduction process does not pierce the blood vessels, no bleeding, and the wound is very small (invisible), reducing the chance of infection. The spongilla spicule is easy to care for after treatment and has a short recovery time.
Spongilla Spicules – Where do they come from?
The first use of spongilla spicules came from Europe, where the natives used sponge powder to treat acne and pimples. The locals salvaged sponges that grew in fresh water, dried them in the sun and ground them into a powder after drying. To use, the sponge powder is with water and then applied to acne-troubled skin and pressed on, then rinsed with water. After 3-5 days of application, the skin will peel off and new skin will grow out. After a few treatments with this sponge powder, the acne or pimples will be cured. With the development of modern science and technology, especially in the application and popularisation of cosmetic companies, researchers have found that sponge powder, consisting of various organic substances and siliceous spicules, is effective in the treatment of acne. It is an ideal natural ingredient for long-term use on the skin to treat acne, pimples, folliculitis and oily skin. It has a wide range of skin care functions to polish the skin, balance oil, eliminate acne, brighten and blemish removal, tighten the skin and refine.
