Q. Does permanent makeup look natural?
A. Semi Permanent make up will look absolutely natural, the colour of your make up, placement area and shape of your treatment is agreed before cosmetic tattooing takes place in order to provide a personalised treatment and ensure that you leave the clinic completely happy.
Q. Who is permanent makeup for?
A. Anyone who wants to look their best all the time, anywhere! It makes you look younger, fresher and more attractive. And just think of the hours you'll save every week when you don't have to stand in front of the mirror applying makeup any more! Permanent makeup is also ideal for sports people, people who have difficulty applying makeup and people who are living with hair loss, cancer, vitiligo and scarring.
Q. Does it hurt?
A. There's absolutely nothing to worry about on that score. Some of my clients have likened the sensation to having their eyebrows tweezed. If you feel any discomfort at all, I'll apply a little bit of soothing cream.
Q. Are there any side effects from the treatment?
A. Some people experience a little swelling or redness straight after their treatment. It soon disappears, though. You might also feel the pigment looks darker than you expected. Don't worry. After a few days, the surface colour naturally exfoliates to leave a softer colour. After five days, the colour will actually be lighter than you want it to be. That's when you come back for the second part of your treatment and I apply more pigment.
Q. How long does it last for?
A. As your skin rejuvenates, the pigments will gradually fade over a period of up to two years. I recommend that you have a colour boost every 12 to 18 months to keep your look fresh.
Q. Can I still wear conventional makeup?
A. Of course, if you can be bothered with the hassle! Permanent makeup is usually used to give you a natural look. Yes, you could have full-on glamour applied permanently, but I recommend you stick to your conventional cosmetics for that!
Q. Is permanent makeup expensive?
A. Well, it's quite a bit more expensive than an eyebrow pencil… but it's a whole lot cheaper than a facelift! I really think permanent makeup is great value for money when you think of the lasting results and the hassle-free lifestyle it gives you.
